Typically we purchase matchsticks in batches of 5 x 1,000.

We use mostly Regular matchsticks. The exta long ones we use for especialy long items such as fencing etc.
Sadly, getting good quality matchsticks is very difficult. They often come bent, too thin, or have the ends knarly and chewed.
We need our matchsticks to be dead square, clean square ends, and all the same thickness and to be straight as a die.
We generally have approx. 30% waste, that's 300 every 1,000 matchsticks are scrap, and they ani't cheap.
